Character Evaluation : Paul .

Paul was born into an orphanage with Simon. At 7 years of age, he seemed really lost and quite unintelligent. He didn’t really know many of the answers the interviewer had been asking. He was actually quite depressed and sad right from the start.

When Paul was 14, he was almost the same as he was at 7. He still had the same sad and shy personality. He doesn’t really know much about his future or where he was heading.
As the years went by, Paul also transformed, this also because, I do believe, having a large part to do with the partner.
He had a wife at 28 and settled down with her in the Australian Outback. His wife’s thoughts on Paul are that he is a shy quiet person, lacks a little self confidence, (which I think has been a constant issue in his life since the very beginning) he doubts his abilities a lot.

Paul and his wife really love one another and they appeared very happy in the outback. His wife is really supportive of Paul and almost puts him back into place sometimes.

Paul considers hi family to be an average family, with 2 cars, earns 12 000 pounds a year (a brick layer) and has 2 kids. He would like his kids to have all the opportunities in their lives that he never had. He also wants to be there for them all the time because his father was never there for him. He believes family always comes first. What impresses me about Paul is that although his life had started off completely unfortunate and not a lot of hope for the future, he had always made the most of his life and has become more fortunate in his life that many of the characters in the 7up series.

Others had already had opportunities given to them but just wasted them where as Paul had nothing and had pursued a really good life, with great kids and a great wife. Its goes to show that no matter what class or how much advantage you may have, people with less fortune can become happier in their lives.
